Iserlohn 14.11.03   Neue Tischgemeinschaften

24 language images are brought together at a single table – a sculptural manifestation of language as a whole. 12 square steel plates carry the written messages of the individual artists. These 12 plates are installed in a frame to form a table nine meters long. Two square benches are foreseen for each plate, creating a table group of 24. Each place at the table presents the written message of one of the artists. Guests are invited two sit down and become part of the table group. A set of headphones is located at each place. The guest can listen to the artist’s verbal message, along with thoughts on its interpretation, in his or her original language.   ZENTRALINSTITUT FÜR KUNSTGESCHICHTE, MÜNCHEN
